Blue Ridge Parkway
On what would have been a peak Sunday for "leaf peeping," the parkway was blanketed by an early, and unexpected snow. Parts of the Parkway were closed. We could get from Highway 276 to Pisgah Inn, but could drive no further, so we parked and took the mile long "connector" trail over to the Mt. Pisgah trailhead. Great day ... Great attitude adjuster.

The last picture was taken about a mile from Pisgah Inn. One car had pulled off the road to look, and slid off the parkway on the ice and snow. The car went down a steep bank for several hundred feet. The newspaper later reported that no one was seriously hurt and that one of Phil's buddies, Don Watson, happened to be the first person on the scene of the accident. Small world...
